The Momentum Agency Otago Toroa are headed to the Grand Final of the inaugural BBNZ Men's TUPU League after a hard fought battle with Porirua.

Otago faced their toughest test of the tournament in the semi-final as Porirua brought an aggressive, fast-paced style of basketball which helped them lead at the end of the first quarter. However, Head Coach Sam Fielding’s team quickly regained control and with Robbie Coman dominating the paint, the game plan was clear. Coman delivered another standout performance, finishing with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Though Porirua continued to fight back, they couldn’t close the gap and Otago's defence remained strong. With Coman drawing defensive attention, teammates Mitch Hughan and Matt Pyper capitalised on the extra space, combining for 9 three-pointers.
Six Otago players finished in double-digits with Robbie Coman (25 pts) leading the charge and Mitch Hughan (17 pts), Matt Pyper (16 pts), Matt Bardsley (14 pts), Josh Aitcheson (10 pts) and Chris Christof (10 pts).
Otago will now play in the Grand Final later this evening at 7:30pm at Edgar Centre. We hope to see you there!
